The Women’s Nike Space Hippie 04 “Volt” is a women’s shoe created exclusively for Nike’s “Space Hippie” campaign that explores the idea of sustainability. Imagining what life would be like living on Mars with little in the way of resupply missions, this special collection of footwear features some of Nike’s most progressive silhouettes to date—all of which are built using “space junk.” The leftover materials from Nike’s cutting room floor form the grey woven upper and speckled FoamX midsole. Dotted neon green Swoosh detailing appears on the mid-panel and a black nylon heel tab with Nike branding provides additional styling and function. The sock-like sneaker displays a traditional lacing system and the aforementioned “space junk” scraps appear on the outsole. Release date: August 12, 2020.
